As a district situated in the hub of production, it is the district’s goal to learn and adopt necessary skills of production happening in China. China’s economy has been growing from strength to strength and new technological innovations being introduced. It is therefore important for the people living in China particularly students who make up the majority of the district to be committed to acquiring skills that they will take back home.
The party’s national chairperson Cde Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri reiterated this by encouraging students not to study to go back home and look for jobS but to acquire skills that bring jobs to the country, be creators of employment. Referring to the mantra ‘Zimbabwe is open for business’, the chairperson said, “When the president is saying Zimbabwe is open for business, he is not referring to foreigners only but Zimbabweans too.” Her message was strong in regards to economic issues stressing that issues of poverty should be addressed with urgency in line with vision 2030’s goal of achieving food security and restoration of the country’s Bread Basket status. Cde Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri was addressing members of the ZANU PF Far East Asia District and the Zimbabwean community in China. She was leading a highly powered delegation comprising of high-ranking ruling party national leaders on a visit to China. Zimbabwe -China friendship presents a lot of opportunities for Zimbabweans to tap into. Areas like finding markets for agricultural commodities which are plenty in Zimbabwe and have to rely on third parties for markets.
She said, ” The ball is in your hands to do the right thing. China is advanced tremendously and has the latest technology, copy the good things happening here.”
“Our economic challenges present a lot of opportunities for you to take up through tangible ideas.”
The Zimbabwean diaspora at large was called to take issues of development seriously. To use their expertise to unlock developmental opportunities back home.
National political commissar Cde Engelbert Rugeje stated that 2019 was a year of strengthening the party. He also explained the road the party had traveled from 2018 elections to date. There is need for unity in the party which the national chairperson said was being emphasised by the president. To be united on purpose. Economic purpose. There is a lot to be done and can only be achieved through dedication and patriotism hence the revival of the Chitepo Ideology School. To impart skills and knowledge to party members at all levels. Cde Oppah was very clear on the issue of ideology. “Never stop learning. As a leader you have to be an authority yourself.”
She stated that the party will strive to let members go through this important training of patriotism. Patriotism will make one see when sabotage is at play and quickly thwart it. Together, Zimbabwe shall be great again.
