ZANU PF Politburo member and the Principal of the Chitepo School of Ideology, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha says the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe are not hurting the elite but the ordinary people of Zimbabwe.
Speaking at Kapiripiri Primary School in Dande, Mashonaland Central Province, Cde Machacha highlighted how the impact of the sanctions were affecting the ordinary people.
“It is not true that the sanctions are targeted at the leadership of the country. These sanctions are not only hurting the President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa but they are hurting the ordinary Zimbabwean in the rural areas. The grinding mill is expensive where people used to pay one dollar they now pay ten dollars.
The buses have also gone up when going to Harare you must sell a cow. I heard also that things in shops are expensive. All these things are happening because Zimbabwe was put on the sanctions in order to hamper and deter the economy.”
Lack of access to clean water is also a challenge in Dande.
They urged government to expedite the Silo shops in order to have easy access to affordable products.
